Dental Implants
Dental implants are small titanium posts surgically placed into your jawbone to replace missing or extracted teeth. These implants serve as a strong, lasting foundation for prosthetic teeth, bridges, or single tooth replacements. Dental implants offer several advantages over other tooth replacement solutions, including:
- Enhanced Appearance Dental implants support custom prosthetic teeth that look and feel like your natural teeth. They are designed to match your unique smile, including tooth color, shape, and size, giving you a permanent, attractive, and natural-looking smile.
- Improved Dental Function Dental implants provide a stable foundation for your prosthetic teeth, allowing you to speak, eat, and smile naturally and comfortably.
- Convenience Unlike removable dentures, dental implants require no special care, such as avoiding certain foods, overnight soaking, constant fittings, adjustments, or messy adhesives. They are a permanent solution and can be cared for just like natural teeth.
- Better Oral Health Dental implants not only enhance appearance and function but also prevent gum disease and tissue deterioration by stimulating the gum and bone tissue.
- Durability With proper care, including daily brushing and flossing and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime.
- Increased Self-Esteem The benefits of dental implants, including improved appearance, function, and oral health, lead to increased self-esteem and confidence in your smile, appearance, and overall health.
The Process of Getting Dental Implants
The first step is to contact us for an initial consultation. During this visit, we will review your dental history, perform an oral exam, and take 3D CT scans to assess gum and bone health and determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Once you are deemed a suitable candidate, we will schedule your surgery. The dental implants will be surgically implanted into your gums and jawbone under local anesthesia, then covered and left to heal.
Over the next few months, the implants will fuse with the bone and gum tissue, providing a strong foundation for your permanent teeth. If the implants are in a visible area, we will place a temporary prosthetic while your custom prosthetics are being made.
After the implants have bonded sufficiently, your custom prosthetic teeth will be attached to the implants using a small abutment. You will then be ready to enjoy all the benefits of dental implants.
